7 Debate: Measles and the importance of vaccination programmes (60 mins)

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

1. Notes the response to the recent measles outbreak; and

2. Recognises the importance of childhood vaccination programmes.

The following amendments have been tabled:

Amendment 1 - Elin Jones (Ceredigion)

Insert as new point 2 and renumber accordingly:

Expresses its gratitude to the hardworking staff of Abertawe Bro Morgannwg UHB and other public officials in Swansea and elsewhere for all the work they have done in countering the measles outbreak.

Amendment 2 - William Graham (South Wales East)

Add new point at end of motion:

Calls for a full and independent public inquiry to learn lessons from this outbreak and reduce chances of future outbreaks.

Amendment 3 - Aled Roberts (North Wales)

Add as new point at end of motion:

Expresses concern at the practice of some private companies in marketing unlicensed and prescription only vaccines and at the misleading claims made by some single vaccination clinics regarding the combined MMR vaccine.
